Beautiful Gate Disabled Performing Arts Troupe was launched by Deputy Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister Datuk Fu Ah Kiow on August 13, 2003. It consists of 25 disabled performers and 5 volunteers. We believes that disabilities do not prevent experiencing in beauty of arts, and aspired to bring to the disabled community, despite their disabilities, an aspiration to experience the beauty of Arts in this era.
Beautiful Gate hopes to provide an opportunity to the disabled community the joy of Performing Arts and allow it to be the media of communication with the society. It hopes to offer the disabled a future and hope of their own beside being an element of motivation of life to the able-body.
Objectives of Beautiful Gate Performing Arts Troupe are as follow:
Beautiful Gate Performing Arts Troupe have been invited to perform in most of the big cities in Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak, and been to Thailand and Singapore for Performance Tour. There is a new invitation from Manila in May 2009.

Performing Arts
The troupe started in year 2009 with an objective of taking up the challenge to show that they can put up a theatre show. The performance is designed to show the diverse talents of the deaf as individuals through performing arts and to promote recognition and appreciation of their talents in the hearing world. The age group range from 15 years old to 40 years old and they come from different background. "Sounds of Silent Dreams", their first concert played to a packed audience from 26 - 30 August 2009 at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac).
The "Sounds of Silent Dreams" Concert also highlight a drum performance by 'DeafBeat' which was started in 2007 with 14 deaf members who have undergone many challenges as well as obstacles to learn to play the drums. Their determination to 'hear' the drums and their hard work have enabled them to suceed.
'DeafBeat' is the first and only deaf drum troupe in Malaysia. Their first concert 'Pulsing Spirit' was held in May 2008 at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac). In 2009, together with YMCA Deaf Performing Arts Troupe they staged a 6-day show at KLPac. DeafBeat has performed overseas at the Paralympics Game in Hong Kong in 2008. At the invitation of the International Disabled group from Beijing , they performed with them in 2008. DeafBeat also receives many invitations to perform at corporate functions.
